Figure 6: In de Casteljau’s method, points are created at a proportional distance (ie. 2/3rds of the way) along each of the poles (black). New poles (pink) connect these points and, once again, points are created at the same proportional distance along them. New poles and points are generated until one final point remains. The process can be repeated at each interval of subdivision along the poles, ad infinitum, to produce a smooth curve.
